Paweł FrejAbout the speaker
-
Bartek GostkowskiAbout the speaker
Paweł Frej and Bartek Gostkowski of HiBrands are going to argue passionately, that the consumer–centric design is a highly effective method of creating successful packaging solutions. They will explain how the daring creative talent grounded in solid knowledge concerning real needs and expectations of consumers has led to a radical change in Przysnacki brand package identity and ultimately to the recent brands’s market successes. They will also argue that although professional research reports help, no vast F&D budgets are necessary to effectively use the consumer-centric method of ideation and creative design. Using the example of Bee Fee concept, they will have shown how by using some free curiosity and a chunk of popular knowledge they designed an innovative concept, created a new brand, and won international awards.

[PL] The impact of German regulations on Polish entrepreneurs - packaging
-
Piotr PodsiadłoAbout the speaker
The involvement of Polish entrepreneurs in the German market is growing year by year. Meanwhile, the German Packaging Act, which is effective in Germany starting in 2019, underwent a major amendment this year. This has significant implications for Polish companies doing business in Germany, as well as those exporting their goods to Germany. One of the obligations that has been imposed on entities delivering packaged goods to the end consumer in and to Germany is registration in the LUCID Central Packaging Register. This presentation is intended to give an overview of the basic obligations of entrepreneurs related to this law.

[PL] Virtual and Augmented Reality in the Packaging Industry
-
Marcin RadomskiAbout the speaker
In today's dynamic industrial environment, innovation plays a key role in achieving competitive advantage and increasing efficiency. The presentation will focus on the revolutionary possibilities offered by Virtual (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies.
Advanced technologies that enable the design, prototyping and visualization of products using interactive virtual environments will be presented. Thanks to these tools, engineers and designers can experiment with different concepts and identify potential challenges already at the design stage.
It will be shown how Virtual and Augmented Reality influence the training process of employees, enabling them to gain practical skills in a safe and controlled virtual environment. Thanks to these technologies, the knowledge transfer process becomes more effective and interactive.
Inspiring cases of the use of Virtual and Augmented reality in the manufacturing industry will be presented, including e.g. virtual machine and device operation training. This will provide conference attendees with a deeper insight into the potential of these technologies to transform and improve operations in the plastics industry.

Demetriusz JanowskiAbout the speaker
Packaging is an integral part of online shopping. Probably all of us have seen piles of cardboard boxes, meters of bubble wrap or stretch film in the garbage.
According to the 2021 Green Generation report, as many as 85% of consumers notice unsustainable packaging practices in e-commerce. We won't do away with it completely, but we can influence the amount and type of packaging used, which will translate into less negative environmental and climate impact.

[PL] Technologies for the XXI century. Test project OWL.
-
Piotr DymałaAbout the speaker
Test prints are a proving ground where manufacturers can showcase their technological capabilities and test cutting-edge security solutions. These solutions are not only industry standards but also their own unique, often patented advancements in security features. Incorporating security features into an engaging, legally unburdened graphic design allows for the creation of small works of art known as security prints. These were the principles that guided the Polish Security Printing Works in creating the SOWA security feature. The presentation will describe the creation of the print, its characteristics and unique properties.

"WFP in Vienna*" Selected Projects of the Department of Industrial Forms of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow
The WFP exhibition in Vienna* is the presentation of projects by students of the Faculty of Industrial Design from the last few years. The subject matter of the work focuses on two areas. The first is packaging designs that respond not only to the needs of producers, but also address the issues of environmental protection. The second area related to everyday life is represented – among others – by furniture and ceramics design. The presented works reflect the students' interests, but also say a lot about their sensitivity to the challenges of the modern world.

Get to know the printing with PWPW
We would like to invite you to the stand of Polish Security Printing Works (P84), where all participants will be able to obtain a PWPW certificate with an individual number made on the spot on an antique BOSTON machine.
The machine, commonly known as a "bostonka", was probably created in the 1920s or 1930s. Several years ago it was restored by PWPW S.A. employees, thanks to which it is in very good condition and can still be used to make prints. It is now regularly maintained. "Bostonka" is a letterpress, platen, flatbed machine. It has a movable pressure crucible, with a fixed mould plate in the main part of the machine. In addition, movable rollers that apply (impart) ink to the mould and a metal lever for manual 'drive'.
PWPW specialists will be happy to talk about the unique solutions in both paper and printing.

Deposit Return System in Slovakia
-
Marián ÁčAbout the speaker
Slovakia has committed itself to increase the current collection of beverage containers from 60 % to 90 % in 2025. It has chosen a deposit return system that combines the efforts of producers, retailers, consumers, and the state on behalf of the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic. This system gives a chance to collect more higher quality material for recycling and reuse in new containers, reduce the visible source of litter and save natural resources. Since the launch of the system in January 2022, Slovakia has collected a total of more than 1.3 billion beverage containers in 18 months of operation.
